It&#8217;s rich buttery flavour is absolutely addictive. It&#8217;s a beautiful moist cake but dense enough to be used in any tiered cake.<!--more--> It&#8217;s an all time favorite for wedding cakes, birthday cakes or any special occasion or everyday cake. Give it a try&#8230;you&#8217;ll LOVE it.<\/p>\n<h2>Directions:<\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"yield\">Yield: Two 8 or 9&#8243; round or square layers (7 and 1\/2 cups of batter)<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Spray pans with cooking spray and line bottoms with parchment paper.<\/li>\n<li>Preheat oven to 350 F.<\/li>\n<li>Cream butter &#038; sugar in mixing bowl until light and fluffy.<\/li>\n<li>Add eggs, one at a time and mix well after each addition.<\/li>\n<li>Mix in vanilla or almond extract.<\/li>\n<li>Add dry ingredients alternately with the milk. Starting with the dry and making three dry additions and two liquid additions.<\/li>\n<li>Pour into prepared pans and bake on center rack of preheated oven for 35 to 65 minutes or until cake is golden and springs back when lightly touched. A tooth pick inserted in the center should come out clean.<\/li>\n<li>Cool ten minutes in pans. Loosen sides with sharp knife and remove from pans.<\/li>\n<li>Cool completely on wire rack.<\/li>\n<li>Fill, frost and decorate as desired.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ingredients\">\n<h2>Ingredients:<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"ingredients-list\">\n<li class=\"ingredients-list-alt\">1 and 1\/2 cups of Butter, softened to room temperature<\/li>\n<li>2 and 1\/2 cups of Granulated Sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredients-list-alt\">5 large Eggs<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp of Vanilla or Almond Extract<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredients-list-alt\">3 cups of All-purpose Flour<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 tsp of Baking Powder<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredients-list-alt\">1\/4 tsp of Salt (Omit, if using salted butter)<\/li>\n<li>1 cup of Milk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"related-video\">\n<div class=\"video\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"video-border\" width=\"560\" height=\"349\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4sPHZ1tnneU\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This has to be my all time favorite cake.
