Her Grandmother used to make these cookies and send them in for the staff to enjoy every once in a while.

Directions:

Yield: 3-4 Dozen

In a large mixing bowl, add the white sugar, brown sugar, margarine and Mazola oil. Cream the ingredients using an electric hand mixer.

Add the remaining ingredients and blend together.

Roll into balls or drop from tablespoons onto parchment lined baking sheets.

Preheat oven to 350°F (if your oven runs on the cool side, you can raise the temperature to 375°F) and bake for approx. 12 minutes or until golden brown.

Cool on wire racks.

Candra’s Notes:

The last two ingredients can be substituted for any kind of chopped nuts, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, Reese’s pieces, M&M’s, peanut butter chips, gumdrops, raisins, Craisins, mixed peel, currents, chopped dates, candied fruit, etc. The sky’s the limit.
