Shortening should be the size of peas.

Stir in milk to form a soft dough.

Dump dough onto lightly floured counter and gently knead 8 to 10 times. Roll or pat down to 1/2 inch or desired thickness and cut with a floured cookie cutter.

Place biscuits onto a parchment lined baking sheet about one inch apart. Bake in preheated 400°F oven for approx. 12 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven, place on wire cooling rack and enjoy!

Candra’s Notes:

Biscuit dough should be soft, but not sticky. A little kneading will improve the quality of your biscuits, but, this should be done very gently as too much handling will result in tough biscuits.

Ingredients:

2 cups of All-purpose Flour

4 tsps of Baking Powder

1 tsp of Salt

1/3 cup of Shortening

3/4 cup and 2 tbsps of Milk (Whatever type: Whole, Skim, 2%, Goats Milk, Almond Milk, Sour Milk, Soy Milk, Butter Milk)

Not only are biscuits delicious, but they are extremely versatile.
