It&#8217;s so good :). Pound cake is great in so many ways&#8230; just plain, with icing, buttercream frosting, with a glaze, with fresh fruit or strawberries and whipped cream.<!--more--> It&#8217;s perfect for a Baked Alaska, which I will be posting next week :).<\/p>\n<p>Bake it in loaf pans or a bundt or tube pan. ENJOY!!!<\/p>\n<h2>Directions:<\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"yield\">Yield: One bundt cake<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.<\/li>\n<li>Add one of the eggs and blend together.<\/li>\n<li>Add the third cup of flour to the egg and sugar mixture and blend together.<\/li>\n<li>Add the vanilla extract and another egg. Blend together.<\/li>\n<li>Mix together the milk and water. Mix 1\/2 of this liquid mixture and the final egg with the cake batter we&#8217;ve been making.<\/li>\n<li>In another bowl, mix together 2 cups of flour and baking powder. If you are using salted butter, omit the salt, otherwise add the salt and mix. Mix 1\/2 of this dry mixture with the cake batter.<\/li>\n<li>Mix the remaining liquid ingredients until well blended.<\/li>\n<li>Mix the remaining dry ingredients until well blended.<\/li>\n<li>Lightly grease a bundt pan and dust with flour.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the cake batter into the bundt pan.<\/li>\n<li>Bake on the center rack at 350&deg;F for 1 to 1 and 1\/2 hours or until tooth pick inserted in the middle comes out clean.<\/li>\n<li>After it is baked, remove from the pan onto a cooling rack. After it has cooled completely, add any frosting or glaze that you like.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ingredients\">\n<h2>Ingredients:<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"ingredients-list\">\n<li class=\"ingredients-list-alt\">1 cup of Butter, softened to room temperature<\/li>\n<li>1 and 3\/4 cups of Sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredients-list-alt\">3 large Eggs<\/li>\n<li>3 cups of All-purpose Flour<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredients-list-alt\">2 tsps of Baking Powder<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp of Salt<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredients-list-alt\">1 tsp of Vanilla Extract<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup of Water<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredients-list-alt\">1\/2 cup of Milk or Buttermilk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"related-video\">\n<div class=\"video\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"video-border\" width=\"560\" height=\"345\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Qk-5FsESJwQ\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is one of my Grandmother&#8217;s recipes.
