These are delicious… you won’t be able to stop at just one! These are classic home-style chocolate brownies. They have that delicious fudge brownie taste and texture. The brownies are quick and easy and always a welcome addition to a baby shower, pot luck, party or any occasion. They freeze great as well… glazed or unglazed.

Directions:

Yield: 9″ x 12″ pan

  1. In a large bowl, mix together butter and sugar until light and fluffy using an electric mixer.
  2. Add to the butter/sugar mixture the cocoa and glucose. Glucose can be purchased at a cake decorating store. But if you are unable to find glucose in your area, you can easily substitute this with corn syrup. Mix together using the electric mixer.
  3. Add the eggs and water and mix together until smooth.
  4. Add the salt, vanilla, the nuts and flour. Mix this again using the electric mixer. Mix until thoroughly combined.
  5. Line a 9″ x 12″ inch pan with parchment paper. Pour the brownies into the parchment lined pan.
  6. Pre-heat the oven to 350°F. Place the brownies in the oven to cook on the center rack for approximately 25-30 minutes.
  7. Be careful because brownies are easy to overcook. If they overcook, they will have the texture of a cake and be dry as opposed to the moist, fudgey brownie texture that we want. You can usually tell if they are done when the brownies start to pull away from the side of the pan.
  8. Let the brownies cool and top them however you like. I love to use my easy chocolate glaze recipe. You could also try making my delicious butter cream frosting. Enjoy!
